Emma Powers began her rowing career as a coxswain at EO Smith High School in Mansfield, Connecticut, and went on to help found Coventry Lake Community Rowing, serving as an athlete, coach, mentor, and board member.

Recruited to cox for Drexel University’s women’s rowing team, Emma competed at both the freshman and varsity levels while spending her summers coaching and apprenticing in boat repair at Community Rowing Inc. She later transferred to the Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned a degree in Industrial Design while continuing to row, coach, and cox with Narragansett Boat Club. During her time there, she served as the club’s full-time Boatsman, overseeing fleet maintenance and supporting both youth and masters programs.

Following graduation in 2023, Emma returned to Connecticut as a novice coach and Boatsman at Connecticut Boat Club, where she coached developing athletes and managed club operations for more than a year and a half. Her experience spans competitive rowing, athlete development, program leadership, and boat maintenance, giving her a unique perspective on all aspects of the sport.
